ECOWAS chief Jean-Claude Casey-Pro has announced that the leaders of the Economic Community of West African States [ECOWAS] have pledged $ 1 billion to combat the escalating threat posed by terrorist organizations in the region.

After a closed-door session of the 15-member Economic Community of West African States [ECOWAS] meeting with the presidents of Mauritania and Chad at an extraordinary summit in Burkina Faso’s capital Ouagadougou, Casey Pro said the commission had decided to contribute urgently to joint efforts to combat terrorism by pledging to provide Billion dollar.
