During a ceremony held by the Syrian embassy in Cuba in cooperation with the Cuban branch of the National Union of Syrian Students at the Syrian Residence in the capital Havana, the former Cuban warriors reiterated that Syria would win its war against terrorism thanks to the sincerity and sacrifices of the Syrian Arab army.
The veterans recalled with pride their participation in the October war, stressing that they saw with their own eyes how the myth of the Israeli army was destroyed by the heroes of the Syrian Arab Army.

During the ceremony, which was attended by officials from the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Defense and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, certificates of appreciation were given to 14 Cuban warriors who participated alongside the heroes of the Syrian Arab Army in the battles of honor and heroism they fought during the October war.
