Syria’s junior tennis team qualified for the world championship after beating Thailand in the quarter-finals of the Davis Cup Asian Cup in Bangkok.

In the first singles match, Pierre Greu lost 0-0 and Tim Al-Azmah restored the hope of winning the Thai player in the second singles match 2-0. In the doubles’ doubles match, Al-Azmah and Jarwa managed to win 2-0 to qualify for the semi-finals of the Championship. Asia to meet Hong Kong tomorrow, knowing that the qualifying teams to the semi-finals qualify for the World Cup.

Team coach Wassim Zinia explained that this achievement was the first in the history of Syrian tennis and that our team is the first Arab team for West Asia to reach the semi-finals of the Davis Cup and qualify for the World Championship.
