A new New Zealand study found that getting an extra day off per week increases productivity and achieves very positive results for the company and employees.

According to Sputnik, a New Zealand company gave its 240 employees over eight weeks three days off for work every week and four days instead of five days and the company asked employees to abide by normal business conditions.

According to the study, the company achieved a very clear success. Seventy-eight percent of the employees who participated in the study confirmed that they can balance their work with their own lives.

The staff worked 30 hours per week instead of the usual 37.5 hours in New Zealand and despite the lack of hours worked, this did not make a difference. Quite the contrary, productivity has increased significantly, as well as a positive impact on work among employees at the company.
