Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari, stressed that the Syrian government strongly condemns the irresponsible US President Donald Trump’s statement on the occupied Syrian Golan.

“Trump’s statements about the occupied Syrian Golan will not change the fact that the Golan was and will remain an Arab Syria,” Jaafari told a news conference. “The US administration has no right or mandate to decide the fate of the occupied Syrian Golan.

Jaafari called on the United Nations and the Security Council to condemn Trump’s statements and take effective steps to preserve the principles of the United Nations and international resolutions, stressing that any recognition or action by the United States of America on the occupied Syrian Golan is illegal and worthless.
