Ron Paul’s best election night

According to the polls, GOP’s Ron Paul is now in the second place nationally. His support grew 5 % putting him at 21% percent, meanwhile another GOP candidate Rick Santorum’s support rose by 5% to 19%, while Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich loose popularity. So with support for the other candidates slipping, is it Ron Paul’s time to shine? To dig deeper into this volunteer organizer and Ron Paul supporter Mary Willson joins RT’s Liz Wahl from Los Angeles.

I think she seems nervous because she is passionate, and its realy hard to keep composed without getting annoyed or angry with the way the US is being run.

I know I'm not the only one thinking this, but if Dr. Paul gets assassinated in an "unpredictable plane crash" or "intentionally hanging himself" I'm putting on my war paint and marching down Washington.

@AuntMaryLuvsU actually everything that america has and/or watches on tv is the same in canada. we are exactly the same as you. our media says the same bullshit yours does because our government does whatever america says. we are getting the same anti-iransyria propoganda you are. we have the same bankers, we have our own huge debt, and our rights and freedoms are being taken away too. the only difference is its not as bad with the police beatings and government control. well not yet but soon

@oolong2 thats wrong there is a difference between people who are rich and the elite that only became rich by corporate backing. ron paul wants to put in laws(that where taken away already) that will not allow corporations to do anything other than run their business. classify corporations NOT as people again. not only that he wants to cut almost all taxes which means YOU get more money. which will be more money to put back into your communities, god people dont actually listen or research

@cobradude0102 kid myself about what?? i said we canada are the same as america harper is selling us to america. he reecently reintroduced our terrorizm bill then the secret NAU meetings went on then america signed their NDAA and then we let american cops police canadians dec 12. so yah harper is selling us away.

stoned_canuck_theory

@TheKillerbear420 we may be able to smoke pot without getting life in jail but so wut. our MSM has polls all the time saying 60% 70% 80% of canadians want pot legalized …but does it ever happen NO because our democracy is ONLY for our governemnt. we are just america a few years ago. soo we will be just as fucked as america with more laws that america decides. we are either merging with america or going to be beaten by america

1. Repealing corporate personhood is a good idea. Still does absolutely nothing about economic inequality or jobs.

2. Again… The very poor do not pay income taxes. Getting rid of income taxes simply means poorer people will pay more taxes as a % of their income in transactional taxes (sales, gas, alcohol, etc) than the rich. Creating an even greater wealth gap as the rich get a huge tax cut.

3. Stop thinking about what "you get" and do your own research.

@oolong2 corporations NOt classified as people Will help the economy 1 they wont use influence on poloticians to pass laws corporations want..soo yah theres that which means corporations wont decide our laws based on how much money they can make. and when ron paul wants to cut taxes he wants all taxes except when you spend your money so how would poor people pay more it will be set rate or by how much your spending. with NO income tax even the poor will have MORE money to spend lol

stoned_canuck_theory

@oolong2 ive done my research there sherlock and i use some common sense. you saythe rich will have less consumption taxes and the poor will have more< where is this exactly? whatever i understand americans they are too comfortable in their fully dictated little lives and i understand that a REAL change is TOO much for people to understand we are the same in canada but. you all forget to add the past 100 years into all your answers instead of admitting the system as a whole is why its like this

stoned_canuck_theory

@oolong2 your talking as if the taxes in sales and gas and alchohal etc will stay the same after income tax is removed the ONLY reason the price of things is so damn high right now is because of gas prices, americas debt to theworld, barely produce your own stuff, after ron paul people will actually be able to maybe create real jobs in america, more locally owned, maybe actually find other sorces of gas, theres a million things that can happen when the federal goverenmnt doesnt run lives

stoned_canuck_theory
Guest

@oolong2 corporations and governments decide what the price of things are they write the laws that make the prices of things without that corporate influence and government laws on what we do, people will be able influence the market> why does everyone hate ron pauls views whats wrong with making YOUR OWN choices wether it be in your personal life or your own business, instead of living by other peoples ideas of what business and life should be? whatever you believe you get it with ron

@TheRealmetal666

If you think "Corporate Personhood" is the only way money manipulates politics you would be mistaken. The people bankrolling Gingrich, Santorum, & Romney are INDIVIDUALS with a lot of money.

There are already many progressive efforts against corporate personhood, but what is Ron Paul going to do about lobbying, the revolving door between the public and private sector, as well as campaign finance reform?

Answer: NOTHING.

@TheRealmetal666

As I said… For the poor income taxes are irrelevant. So what you're talking about is a HUGE tax break for the wealthy and another HUGE tax break for the super wealthy who get their money from capital gains.

Trickle down economics DOESN'T WORK.. Because of Reagan and Bush the wealth in this country has been redistributed to the wealthy (who then use it to gamble on Wall St and buy politicians) because of fools that get tricked into trickle down economics.

oolong2
Guest

@TheRealmetal666

Like I said giving huge tax cuts to the wealthy while cutting government services only hurts the poor. The rich then buy politicians, gamble (speculate) on Wall St which causes price increases on food & gas, bubbles in the market, further hurting the poor.

I don't hate Ron Paul. In fact I acutally donated to his campaign in 2008 because I like some of his ideas. However it is naive to blindly fall for some simplistic ideology to magically fix everything.

Look at who funds the candidates running… It is private banks funding the Super Pacs of Romney and Obama. It is no wonder that Romney and Obama support these private banks. These banking institutions do not hold America's interest at heart, but their own. Private banks print money with nothing tangible backing it, and loan this money to the government. This allows the politicians to maintain the status quo: burying america in debt, and robbing our seniors of their savings.

Ron Paul was the winner, the decision makers behind the curtain couldn't play fair and let us choose our candidate. Wish there was a way to remove these puppet masters so humanity may live according to our wills individually.
