Ron Paul: US is pushing its own agenda in Ukraine

As unrest in Ukraine leads to changes in the country’s government, a US politician is blasting the United States’ role in the events. Former Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) says the US should not have threatened sanctions against Ukrainian politicians, and should have let the government in Kiev handle their own crisis internally. “The usual interventionists in the US have long meddled in the internal affairs of Ukraine,” Paul said in a statement on his website. “They keep pushing their own agenda for Ukraine behind the scenes, even as they ridicule anyone who claims US involvement.” RT’s Meghan Lopez takes a closer look at Paul’s statement.

30 years ago if someone told me that the US would be the nation that starts World War 3 I would have been 100 percent sure that this was false. Today I am not so sure anymore. We are now doing things we have historically condemned other countries for doing and still condemn them for.

Ron Paul was the last hope America had to get rid of corruption in Washington DC and to end the fed.

So true. It's none of our business. Why would any of our citizens even WANT to be involved? Are there any who do? Or is it just the government?

Yes, the USA and EU should not be involved in Ukraine but Russia should do the same and back off!! Leave Ukraine to decide its own fate! I agree and said the same thing on other videos that Ukraine should remain neutral and have good ties with both the EU and Russia. They would benefit while not being involved in the stupid west vs east battle. Oh and fuck the USA stupid policies and foreign involvement and fuck Russia for doing the same!

I know there would be a lot of people who would be bitching, moaning and complaining about Ron Paul being our President.

But come on, Ron Paul would certainly change our handling of foreign affairs and keep us out of other countries problems now.

Dr. Paul seems to be implying that the U.S. has some imperialistic agenda.
If only he would read the paper or watch CNN or BBC. He would then see the light and realize that this is, of course, a proposal rooted in our deep commitment to 'humanitarianism'.

there is so much anti-Russian/Putin bias in the mainstream media right now, including a cable show about Russian spies undercover in the US during the cold war. Obviously the establishment is pissed they granted asylum to Snowden. And when Obama wanted to go to war with Syria, Putin of all people got everyone to compromise and deescalated the situation.
I really hope we aren't going into another cold war or something worse.

It's very unfortunate that vote and media frauds has robbed Mr. Paul's chance to become a president, or in very least a strong presidential candidate.

Why don't I see Justin Amash, Mike Lee, Gary Johnson etc. speak out and say the same thing as Ron Paul regarding the Ukraine? Couldn't find any videos.
I say Ron Paul is in a class of his own.

Russia is invading an sovereign European country. The Russians should leave, that country isn't theirs. The Ukrainian themselves have to choose what they want, not Russia doing that for them by sending over 15.000 soldiers. Or the EU by sending over troops. What Ukraine needs is both Russia and EU-countries to do business with. That provides them jobs, they need to feed their families. Everybody can scream that they're the best, but I don't think an Ukrainian really cares when he/she doesn't has a job. Personally I think, there should be held 2 referendums. One in the East of Ukraine… Read more »
