Ron Paul: “NO” to the debt ceiling

Today President Obama is meeting with the highest ranking lawmakers to discuss the on-going issue of the debt ceiling. One person who won’t be there, however, is Texas congressman Ron Paul – he is away on his first official presidential campaign, and in his latest ad in he gives his answer to the great debate over debt. Paul has said “no” to the question of raising the debt ceiling time and time again. To talk more about it, L Randall Wray, a professor from the University of Missouri, joins RT’s Kristine Frazao.

Ron Paul, Obama or Mickey Mouse its all the same. And that makes professor depressed. Believe in Ron Paul if it makes you feel better.

@superfuzz Duh! Definitely it's cool. It's the U.S.A. The U.S.A. President is supposed to do that. Duh, come on man. Well, Bush is the coolest. Just to clear things up.

What will happens to all the 27 million disabled and seniors when they don't receive their benefits, many depends on these benefits. How are they going to pay their rent or other bills??

@superfuzz Whats upsetting is the amount of money spent on making sure that americans do little more than rant on youtube about it… programming the minds of a population with false fears and uncertainty reguarding things that are morally right, or even in the interests of self preservation is a vast undertaking. Meaning, most Americans wouldnt voice public concern about the ticking device in plain sight, but will be up in arms about it on youtube etc.

@Mumineen99 i hear donating blood is an option. a realistic one if the system doesn't un-fuck itself quickly.
Option 2, the Govt starts executing the elderly and turning them into food for the rest of us… like soylent green,

This is all a big joke… watch the zeitgeist movies or just study the fractional reserve banking system… money isn't even real and they create it with the push of a button. This guy really nails it… this is all a political move.

Ok so he says the money is essentially sitting in bank vaults and never sees the light of day. Fine. Then explain the increase in inflation, commodity prices and food. Weather related?

@superfuzz What im saying is "too lazy to care" isnt some freakish coinsidence that most americans suffer from, its a focused effort the govt has dumped a few trillion dollars into over the past few decades. It's 100% the Govts fault, they are the ones who fund the private think tanks that who lay out in detail exactly what needs to be done to keep people from organizing for the right reasons. Im floored the tea party has lasted this long tbh.

@superfuzz Just for example, im in hong kong at the moment. These people take to the streets and march over the slightest government proposal thats not in their best interests. Guess what the outcome usually is? That plan gets hosed quick. Think the US govt or those in the shadows want that kind of power in the publics hands? A huge chunk of the population is conditioned in the sickest psychological way. Show me when America becomes free and brave reguarding an issue these days.

@thoraxe423 – I know what you mean, but I went on the gov track website to look at Ron Paul's voting record. He is more centrist in his ideals and the bills that he has sponsored/voted on were sound and fair. He seems to really be in favor of defending liberties. At the rate this current government is going (gazillions of laws), we are going to deemed criminals or terriorists for everything we do.

@jw12yrsctch our government lives out of people – serves Jewish(fake) Rothschild's Israel were only 3% are real Jews, opposite of this evil Rothschild – Stalin created state. This is not only my opinion but many Americans, governors who openly told on TV that CIA/Congress are totally control by them. Where is the human history when we deal with those criminals throughout the centuries who develop invisible empire controlling 65% of world wealth murdering people/nations, making wars and famines

The PATRIOT ACT IS MEANT TO KILL US LIKE HITLER KILLED WITH POISONS . A careful reading of Section 817 of the Patriot Act, “The Expansion of the Biological Weapons Statute,” reveals this to be the umbrella statute which is authorizing this-THE DUAL WATER LINES TO HOMES, this statute is legalizing “delivery systems” and “toxins” under certain circumstances. “Delivery systems” is weapons terminology. “Toxins” are poisons. The statute details when these delivery systems and toxins will be legal.

@sga86 Do your homework. The Fed gets audited regularly. And the 95 percent figure doesn't mean anything, unless you believe that Best Buy in 1911 sold iPads for $20.

Bane Pepe

@MrAdvancedAtheist The voluntary information the Fed releases DOESN'T COUNT as an audit – even if that's what the Fed is calling it. Stop buying the official press releases the Fed lobbyists put out.

Your second point is a fallacy.

@WellIAMScottish We've defaulted before. You're equating a default with the necessity of cutting disability – the two aren't mutually exclusive at all!

The government wants you to believe if the government defaults all public offices will close, social security and disability will be immediately insolvent and the sky will fall! That's complete propaganda! They're fear mongering!

@radroofer Very short and simple, but true!!! Americans have to wake up, specially Christian.

Pray for Ron Paul, because if he will be not elected as a president of US, we will be lost in the hands of fake Jewish evil mongers. This is also prediction of Benjamin Franklin. Look on Internet for "Benjamin Franklin about the Jews"

The US can only default voluntarily, although it would be unconstitutional to do so.

Too busy scamming people who choose to invest with him. Schiff thoroughly understands the economics of a gold-based monetary system, not the one that we have in the US.

False. We are in a PRIVATE debt crisis.

SS cannot go bankrupt. Even if it runs a negative balance, it is still sustainable. Sovereign currency issuing currencies cannot involuntarily default, by definition.
