Dina FTW.

this chick is slanted toward Rand Paul.
there is another video of her defending his dumb comments.
she can't even admit when he does something absolutely retarded.

@ZKY2 True.

But.

I'm not sold on Rand.

@jreed136 Neither am I. I'm not sure if he just doesn't hold the same policies as Ron Paul, or that he isn't as experienced and that he just doesn't know how to "talk politically".

Point about Dina is that she isn't just writing him off as some racist like some other people are and is actually giving him a fair chance.

Things Paul said which seem very implausible:

(i) The Tea Party movement is not expressing anger.

(ii) The Republicans, during Bush, doubled the debt; the current Democrats tripled the debt (what does he mean? Tripled what debt existed in 2008? That can't be right. He's being deliberately ambiguous.)

(iii) The bailouts were a mistake. (In some respects, yes, but the bailouts prevented an even more massive collapse.)

(iv) Forcing citizens to buy insurance is unconstitutional.

Continued:

(v) Health insurance should be like term life insurance, with e.g. 10-yr plans. How to work this out in the employer-based system, if someone loses their job?

(vi) The `underwear bomber' bought a one-way ticket (untrue; see e.g. Talking Points Memo's reports on this.)

(vii) Evo Morales is a `dictator.' Far too simplistic.

The U.S. owes the UN a lot of money. Not the other way around.

His views make him a whack job! If the world was the way he wanted it, we'd still be living in the wild west!!!! And that didn't work out to well.

I truly hope Rand is the "real deal." If not, civil war may break out! Rand, if you're on here, make sure you push this: Abolish the FED and IRS, remove the US from the UN, restore the Glass-Steagall Act, abolish the Council on Foreign Relations and amend or remove all foreign policies and abolish the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Remove all govt departments and shrink govt down to its proper size and purpose! And bring our troops home!!

"i'm not going in there to gain seniority for 30 years and bring back pork barrel spending" we need people like Rand Paul in new york desperately

@jhip87 i thumbed this comment down man i had to… godbless ya…

but the bailouts put us into deeper debt with the off shore bankers we have no access to audit behind the federal reserve which includes goldman sachs. This is in the trillions … i mean, you're saying the bailouts avoided collapse… the bailouts are collapsing our dollar.

Also, the federal government mandating citizens to guy Anything is unconstitutional

jhip87
Guest

@sciencemunk I take your first point, though I've not heard plausible suggestions from Paul as to what he would have done differently re: the economic catastrophe of 2008. As best I can tell, no one had an idea that seemed better than a bailout at that time. Perhaps I'm overlooking something, though.

The second point is curious. I assume you think the point extends to auto insurance, and perhaps to requirements like seat belt and helmet laws. For what reason are these unconstitutional?

sciencemunk
Guest

@jhip87 because a bunch of beaurecrats who's authority comes from us are telling us how to live our lives… i do hold the belief that the government should not force us to buy auto insurance… maybe im in the minority on that one…. for what reasons is it unconstitutional.. the Constitution enumerates what the government is to do… coin and regulate our money, which they forfeited to our central bank (a communist plank) the fed..national defense, commerce between states, and protect

sciencemunk
Guest

@jhip87 continued; property rights… the majority of the constitution talks about what the government is Not allowed to do. and it tells us that the sovereignty of king george was given to the states.. the people are sovereign, and the states supersede the power of the federal government.. this set up, is not what we live under today… as is with much of our founding laws and principles… the patriot act for example, is the complete stripping of the 4th amendment from the bill of rights

The tea party's heart is in the right place but in all honesty…too little too late.

Buy gold.

You don't even have to guess what the republiklans would have to say if President Obama would have gone on Russian TV talking about doing away with or amending a 125 year old constitution.
