Forget the RNC: Ron Paul starts his own Convention

The Republican National Convention was set to kick-off on Monday in Tampa, Florida, but due to Tropical Storm Isaac the assembly has been rescheduled for the following day. However the bad weather didn’t keep thousands of loyal Ron Paul supporters from gathering at what is being called Ron Paul Fest. RT’s Producer, Manny Rapalo, joins us with more on Ron Paul’s legacy and what we can expect from the Texas Congressman.

Why is this not the time!?

Being a Paul supporter is outside the box. I don't make a habit of believing known liars which is why I support Paul. He has proven himself with the years of voting as the Constitution allows him. Name a single recent Congressman with a voting record as flawless as Pauls. If you can't then don't bother responding because I don't want to hear excuses.

You missed my point(s). Being consistent, honest is good…but so what? I am attacking Ron Paul not on these but other, substantive issues. The known liars are only because we know the truth, nor would I take them or even Ron Paul at their word. Who would? Rather, I am being honest with you in reporting what my independent research tells me, ideology be damned…because an ideologue is another word for "dupe". Austerity = genocide. Austrian school = Rockefellers. that's honest!

How do you write someone in?

Aetheras

You mean yesterday? Yes he did. I wonder though his intent; the last bill he pushed was all water and no bridge. He's also playing a dangerous game trying to convince as many Libertarians to stick with the Republican party, who are already Republican. Rather than leave, especially given the treatment of Ron Paul nominated delegates. I couldn't watch the rest of the count after Nevada (though it was nice to see some proud RP support from the State auditor). But Rand isn't his father.

Didn't I tell you to not bother responding if you couldn't name a single Congressman with a better voting record? I don't want to hear excuses and that's exactly what you gave me. You will not change my mind or beliefs.. If you are so great then get off YT and do something.

and I am trying to share what I know because I've made similar mistakes in the past. As for what I've done? More than being an ideologue…lead "into the wilderness". Been to the Supreme Court, 2X's, 9th District Ct of App, 3X's, countless state court affirmative actions…over years. I've saved myself. I wised up. Called? wisdom. and I am not done learning. But I will leave you with this: Libertarian movement being hijacked by Bilderberg head Thiel from PayPal. Beware! NO MORE DUPES!

There is a candidate running for president speaking out against the war in Afghanistan. His name is Gary Johnson. I'll vote for him on this issue alone. Not to mention, Ohio will not count write-in votes. They had a hard enough time counting in 2004 and those were for the big government parties.

I Love this, never give up,rise up everytime they make u fall by cheating by thinking outta the box and drop on em an unexpected bomb.Way to go Ron Paul

I never cared for Ran – he looks like a slimy little jerk and his endorsement of Romney proved me right , IMO.To me a sellout by any other name is still a sellout and that was what Rand is . Who wants to be aligned with a party who stripped Maine delegates of their delegacy and changed the rules at the 9th hr to not allow Ron , with 5 states majority , to speak or be considered for nomination ,changing it to a 10 state majority . I'm changing my party affiliation today .

In MA, we have a spot on the ballot for write-in votes. Not sure if anyone even counts them with this flawed process .Apparently, from what I see on yt , it is not allowed in all 50 states . This move by the RNC effectively hands the election to Obama , imo. Perot split the vote back in 1992 when Clinton won – I voted for Perot . Either way ,Goldman Sachs , the largets donor of both Mitt and Obama is the winner .I think its too late for RP to run 3rd party -otherwise, he might still win.Shame.

Disagree.

Perhaps if we had a system wherein all could vote their conscience the first round, followed by a second round of voting where folks would vote for the lesser of two evils, then there would be real change.

As it stands now, a majority of Libertarians will vote Romney/Ryan out of shear fear of a second Marxist tyranny.

I would argue that most are economically conservative, and socially liberal, thus Libertarian.

I vote Romney out of FEAR.

So one should vote Gary Johnson Libertarian if Conscientiously DESPITE the concept that said vote may very well help Barry?

I fear Barry more than I loathe Romney's big Government Statism.

I'd rather be preached to by a Mormon, than raped by a Communist.

We are Libertarian, We are Anti Tax Slavery.

Bull shit
There has been countless of video's and interviews of die hard Paul supporters who said that they will either, Voter Gary Johnson or Write-In Paul if he doesn't endorse Johnson which I believe he will considering Johnson endorsed Paul in 08 when Paul asked for it AND Johnson spoke at his convention this weekend.

Also, do you really think Paul supporters will vote Romney after he unseated many of Paul supporters and those that were seated got the worst seats at the convention?
Get real

I will never vote for Gary Johnson. He is pro choice which sounds good in theory. Pro choice is Pro murder. i will not vote for someone who is for murdering a developing human life. Hard to have life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness if your murdered before you get started.

His dad told him to do that you know… Rand still has a chance in the future to be the next Republican candidate should Obama win again; dont count him out yet… What you can count on however is the fact that there will be more war and more poverty for the US unless someone other than Obama or Romney get in… just saying – peace out

Liberty is the right to make your own decsions… you saying that people dont have a choice if they get pregnant, they MUST have the baby? Sounds like a Pseudo-Libertarian to me… Sheep in wolves clothing if you will… Anyway, America has always been pro-murder; so whats the difference? Tell me im wrong if you can, because I'm pretty sure you cant – As much as I want peace in the world, its not going to happen unless the people in control choose it, and they wont, because its too profitable.

if this keeps up I am done with voting period ill just leave the country nothing worth staying here for, can't vote, plus they can arrest you with no trial no judge no charges almost time to leave and look for a better place to live.

Real? Be Objective. Rational people are in the minority. Libertarians; (Economically Conservative and Socially Libertine) represent maybe 30 percent of American voters.

If all Libertarians were to vote Gary Johnson, Barry would win with his majority of government cheese sheeple.

We must vote for the lesser of two evils. A Statist or a Communist.
The Statist will preach fire and brimstone, the Commie will take half your paycheck.

K Moss

No. You be objective and rational.
Anyone who calls themselves a libertarian is not going to vote for someone who is all abut big government ESPECIALLY after what Mit did to Paul delegates

Johnson spoke at Paul Fest and got a huge reception. There are countless of videos and articles of Paul supporters stating that they would support Johnson if Paul doesn't get the nod. Others said they will still write-in Paul. Some stated a Paul's endorsement of Johnson would easily sway them to Johnson.

When you have sex your doing something that leads to a child being born. You could choose not to have sex. If you are choosing choices, there are things that could happen. Our country is pro murder, yup. That makes it ok? Murdering our soldiers in foriegn countries for greed. Or murdering a child for piss pour choices. It all SUCKS. As long as your decision don't infringe on someone elses rights it's ok. You need to do some research on what liberty actually is, and it's limitations.

Everybody knows that you are another unemployed Obama Democrat and paid to sit on Ron Paul videos and spread hate.
Obama is a black racist who is supported by black racists, and he is methodically undermining the US military, the SS, Medicare and everything else he gets his slimy Neo-Comm hands on.

LuckyRosco

You are correct. I'm a Democrat who's had enough of the cr@p going on in the government, and I will vote for Ron Paul. Romney just doesn't have the killer instincts like Ron does. And Paul Ryan's budget plan doesn't go far enough to fix the country.

"distinguishes himself"….well duh!!!…..did any of the other idiots want to win? Santorum was kicking mormon ass in middle america then he pulled out to wait his turn in 2016…then it was noise-maker Gingrich…all of them supported GOP's mission legitimise Romney as the nominee…

Don't write in Ron. He did not apply to be a write-in candidate in any state. Any candidate who hasn't applied to be a write-in candidate will NOT have their vote counted. If you want to shake the establishment, vote for Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate, who has said he would gladly run with Ron Paul as his VP. He needs all the help he can get to be a part of the Presidential debates coming up soon.

uglyd0g

Lets just be realistic here. Rand stands no chance of "infiltrating" the Republican party to make any real change. Those in power simply will not allow that to happen. Do you really think they won't keep their thumb down on him? "Big brother" is always watching, especially when you're Ron Paul's son.

I see from your profile that you are young and idealistic – I was that way when I was your age too .. I've been interested in and involved in politics for longer than you have been alive .

doogleandalix

Oh, I definitely believe it was planned so Rand could stay in the good graces of the GOP – Gop: Endorse Romney and we;ll take care of you " – to me , a sellout by any other name is still a sellout .
