Can the delegate vote help Ron Paul pull off an upset?

The 2012 elections is just around the corner and President Obama is still waiting to see who the GOP will nominate to run against him for the White House. Right now, the Republican Party is embracing the notion of having Mitt Romney as their representative, but Ron Paul is still in the race. In some states the Texas Congressman leads Romney in the delegate vote and Brian Doherty, senior editor for Reason.Com, gives us his take on a possible Ron Paul victory.

Well you started yours with "Dr. Paul and his supporters are living in a fantasy world"…I take offence to that. Nothing wrong with wanting America to be America again instead of this corrupt corporate cash cow for the select few which is stripping us of our constitutional rights….so yeah…if you don't want our Constitutional rights, you're prolly better off jumping from a cliff anyway. And u ignoring me is just fine from my standpoint. Doesn't bother me…

Yes, I pray that Ron Pauls integrity and honesty is super contagious and becomes the new rage on this planet.

I didn't know RON PAUL until he became a candidate for President. I wanted to know why the media was blacklisting him. At first I thought maybe he was a nut case BUT I took the time to find out all I could about him. MY CONCLUSION WAS THAT RON PAUL IS IN SUPPORT OF THE CONSTITUTION AND WE THE PEOPLE. All the other candidates just want power and a dictatorship to the people. PLEASE LOOK AT HIM CLOSELY AND THEN VOTE FOR RON PAUL

that reminds me of how funny it is the fights we get into. "war on drugs"? A war on chemicals that cause stimulate responses in you? "war on terror"? war on a military tactic? lol and then the "war on poverty" so are we gonna become socialists? Its funny lets just wage a war on fear while were at it lol!

You must be a democrat, because you certainly aren't acting like a conservative.

Question can Ron Paul pull off an upset = it is possible but first the voter fraud and such needs to be made public by mainstream media which has blocked Paul.. Mitt will never defeat Obama never.. Paul is a great and such a shame that so many have not studied authentic history.. Really my god. The U.S. Could have and if would wake UP now have a JFK like better even.. But because of this broken system and the liar's chair named Politics slim chance.. Rand Paul Hmmmmmm.

If I'm not mistaken, when under Martial Law, the President in charge REMAINS in charge until Martial Law is lifted. It basically cancels out any election at all.

Nah…Chuck Norris would step in at the last second to kick Mitt's ass for Ron then prolly turn around and bow to him.

While I do agree with you as far as Ron Paul being the only valid candidate, the free market is not "impossible" or "terrible".

It's only in this climate of hyper-regulation, pandering and cronyism that the free market gets bogged down enough that things get as bad as they are now.

If you vote Ron Paul is the only one who isn't totally corrupt but politics isn't the answer and "Money/market" is ROOT of problems.

Automation+ cheap labor= NO JOBS= No consumers= capitalism is over

NOW we can:
1. FREELY Share ALL resources & knowledge worldwide, NO more money/property

2. Use LATEST technology to create an ABUNDANCE of all our needs, NO more waste/theft

3. Automate/localize ALL production and distribution, NO more central control/wage slavery

Cursing, obviously not a true conservative. Anyways, Ron Paul has stated the opposite of what you said he in fact wants MORE free market, he wants more freedom. He thinks the reason our economy collapsed is because of the different socialist like policies we have implemented which have been too much for the government to handle. If anything he is an extreme conservative on economy. Not on social issues though, which I do not agree with him on.

Politics is the answer when it can shrink a dysfunctional, over-reaching and corrupt central government, which is the REAL 'root' of our problems.

There will ALWAYS be property. There will ALWAYS be money, or at the very least, barter.

You don't get something for nothing, and doing nothing gets you nowhere.

Automation =/= no jobs. Someone has to design, build, program, update, repair, and upgrade all those machines. 😉

Long answer-watch the video. Quick answer- no.

I believe more people are in support of RON PAUL than Mitt Romney. Too bad the media doesn't represent Dr. Paul fairly. I'm afraid that the lack of media support to Ron Paul will be the cause of Obama being re-elected!

Your delegate count is WRONG 627 to 186 as of June 1 2012. More lies. With 978 still to vote as far as I can tell. Romney 627 to Paul 186 is correct though. It's not over..
