Blah blah blah inflation is a good thing when interest rates are so low ..

Trump is right, the libertarian ideals only work in global economy if everyone plays fair and plays by the rules, sadly that's not the case. Not only are we protecting our interests but we haven't gone far enough, when will we have a trade deal that discourages slave labor in china ESPECIALLY when it comes to exploitation by the richest companies in the world aka BIG TECH?

these are all reasons to support it. no such thing as free trade. all countries use tariffs to protect local industries and they should. otherwise multinationals come in and undercut prices and put tons of people out of work. thats just how it all works out. free markets and free trade are nice abstractions but never get implemented in reality. we dont live in prefect land.

Hey Ron, it is pretty damn pathetic your son voted yes on the Kavanaugh conformation. Emily's List and the Patriot Act should of been two red flags but I guess your son is just another partisan hack who likes to hold on to power and the paycheck.

The USA can't afford free trade. Every time a nation announces emancipation from the petrodollar it gets a lesson in 'freedom' and 'democracy'. There will be no free trade until the USA collapses to a regional power.

2018 united states of fraud. From the bike industry to gov its all the same.
Right to work laws are abused by corporate. Created a churn and burn invironment. So at the end of the day executives have gotten rid of hr, rolled it into legal so everything is now political and employees jockey to suck up.

Your best option. Live out the life you have, stay away from all the industries and live lean and save big. Sooner or later you will be unemployed. Its a matter of when. Soon as dems get power back its open borders, outsourcing, higher taxes and food stamps. The obama way.

Your description of the USMCA trade agreement sounds good to me. Requiring Mexico to require similar wages be paid to their citizens will bring Mexico's economy up to levels that are closer to the US and Canada. North American countries allying to produce more here and import less from Asia is a benefit. Next we should start working on how Central and South American countries can be added in.

Mexico is getting richer by the day, NAFTA and many of its regulations raised the quality of several products and got Industry in line with the USA, which in most cases is something good. Yet, economic inequalities are at their highest now, I'm sure endless hordes of people will try better luck in the USA, why is that such a big deal? Those people will never fulfil the official requirements for admission.

For too long all trade agreements were about helping our competitors and hurting the economy in US. I don't care about any other country and think it's high time we take care of ourselves first. Everybody wants a piece of the US market but doesn't reciprocate that privilege. All Asian countries have tariffs but flood the US market, especially Japan and China. Trade is not free and should be a balanced equal proposition!!!

He seems like a decent honest guy…I like the idea of full free trade which clearly doesn't exist anywhere I am aware of. But that would guarantee the undermining of local industries as the world levels out and lots of environmental damage as scales of production are yet further increase. My neighbour a cattle farmer say a hundred cows has lots of meadow just enough for their feed…his cows or bits of them get sent off maybe around the world. His land alone if used differently could feed all here plus the surrounding areas in my estimation if we lived… Read more »

I am pro-free trade. But under the circumstances that China is mercantalist and maintains an authoritarian grasp on their citizens, free trade allows the cheap goods coming from China to flood our market but to the artificial advantage of the Chinese leaders and their privileged industries (which end up making inferior products). If a company or government literally enslaved its workers and could sell cheaper than anyone else, the market would have an incentive to choose their products because they are cheap, but as a result they would also be perpetuating those workers' slavery for the ultimate gain of the… Read more »

Reminds me of the time fast food companies signed the famous non-competitive agreement. Seems to be the same type of thing with the NAFTA 2.0 USMCA thing.
