Record High Military Suicides Continue – What’s The Real Cause?

The Pentagon has unveiled a new plan to combat record high military suicides, including more government bureaucracy and record-collecting. But is the US government missing the real point on military suicides? Are they so determined to treat the symptoms that they are blind to the cause?

How can you not sink into deep depression when your job puts you into situations that has you killing innocents.

Remember when politicians actually served the people, and did not wait for tragedy, be it a natural disaster, or something like this, to start frothing at the mouth about the millions they can get to "look into it", but not actually do anything… all the while looking like they care.

Disgusting.

A lot of the problems are when soldiers come back. They are not hire for a job because most business refuse to higher Vet's and would rather higher illegal's for cheaper wages. They are not allowed to stay busy and work but get blame for joining the military and starting the war. Which we know congress created the war's for gain nothing to due with our constitution one pit.Congress have lake fire coming to them one day's for all their evil lie's they created . Congress brought down Twin towers for their sick lie to control the oil over middle… Read more »

Before, when soldiers came back from war, they came back to an anchor of normalcy. War sucks and soon I'll be back where most people know or figure it does. Instead, now, they return home where the society thinks war is fabulous and as passive and regular as dinner time. "Thank you for your service" like they are the waiter. A pat on the back crap for being traumatized and never be the same again. Like that shit head Jay Leno. That's for losing your legs so I can be rich and collect all these cars by keeping my mouth… Read more »

Many vets strugle with the fact that they choose their government over their God "thou shall not kill". Also many realize that they fought for Israel's interest and their brothers and sisters in arms died in vain. Sorry but the truth hurts. My words may seem harsh but I will not thank a vet anymore for their service. That does not mean that I do not respect them as a person just not as a vet.

If our politicians love war so much, why don't they go and fight them?

Better payouts and better mental health services are a must if you are going to send troops off to fight a useless war.

War is not about freedom. It's about young men fighting, killing and dying to make wealthy men wealthier. Karma is a bitch

Because they now found out that they have been duped into wars for their enemy. The government used them to fight the wars for the Jews/Israel while the Jews/Israel were the ones who stabbed their backs and ruined their country, attacked their own soldiers-comrades. 9/11, USS Liberty… and millions other incidents … That's why they committed suicidal to escape their depression and guilty strip.

My grandma, who was a nurse in WW2, told me that papa, who I never met, came back from the pacific theater with malaria and couldn't sleep in the bed. He had to sleep on the hard floor for a long time and he didn't get a penny for his service. She told me never sign up.

The tragedy of the realities of RX is that-whlie profitabl- drugs don't solve the deep causes, the realities of an individual's morality against undue death/destruction.

Another sad aspect is…for way too many young people…joining the military beats the hell out of working at McDonalds.

IMO, military service is an honorable and, likely, rewarding path as long as you know what to expect and what you want to get out of it. If you are considering signing up, try to go into a specialty field such as electronics, computers, or a health care related field. You want something that will transfer over to your civilian life after you separate. If you're after the educational benefits, as I was, by all means go for it. But, first you should inform yourself as to why the suicide rate is so high for Iraq and Afghanistan combat veterans.… Read more »

Who could mess with the minds of our military personnel (guards, judges, technicians, coroner/s, etc., etc.)? And how?"—at least for those leaders willing to admit that the British Empire’s entire trans-Atlantic financial system is hopelessly bankrupt, and that every effort to date to bail out its $1.5 quadrillion speculative bubble has failed miserably. Bail-outs on steroids, in the form of over $15 trillion in quantitative easing (QE), were tried and failed. Bail-ins collapsed before they even got off the starting blocks, because they were politically impossible. Negative interest rates are now the dominant reality across most of the G7 nations—the… Read more »

Good evening RonPaulLibertyReport streamed live 10 hours ago. I gave the cast a thumbs up and I am a happy subscriber. When an American young man or woman decides to sign up and serve in the military, they have no prior experience or war experience. Once you get off the bus and realize that you are now in boot camp training, you are susceptible to PTSD. American young people risk mental health every day to serve in combat. God bless America. I have PTSD. Frank out!

The reason soldiers are killing themselves is very simple. They are ashamed of what they are being ordered to do.

They wake up in some ditch somewhere and realize that they are the bad guys. And they do what they are trained to do… kill the bad guys.

Nothing more complex than that.

Exact same reason we have the problem with cops. Some people just can't handle being thugs.

Just like the NWO, classic tactic, tie the shit up in obtuse & loosely defined studies for over a decade therefore justifying yet another bureaucratic money leeching program.

The US MIC has not forgotten how problematic returning awakened antiwar Vietnam vets were, so the job of the VA is to keep returning vets near death so they cannot fight for peace.

I bet a big factor is the lack of community outside the army. unless you've got a church or something, 'community' is dead and destroyed. These men, for the most part, are all alone.

All soldiers go to war believing they ate the good guys.
Most return home realising they were the bad guys.
That doesn't help healing.

Veterans get out of an organization that is built on meaning and discipline and enter a nihilist, atheist, modernist society. Wars are part of the problem but not the whole thing, many of the folks serving today aren't getting deployed.
