North Korea Breakthrough? Don’t Tell The Neocons!

After a successful North/South Korea meeting, North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un surprised the world by suggesting that he might give up his nuclear program under certain conditions. Will the US play ball, or will the neocons once again block any chance of peace?

The US has full control the the South Korean military and have so since the end of the Korean War. But that will expire in 2020 and I hope President Moon will take back control

Yes, it was Bush Jr that just threw away the agreement and called them the axis of evil along with Iraq. Then he invaded Iraq and we know that was all horrible for America

Why does the U.S. care what happens within Kim's family? How many times have the Saudis killed family members? Hypocrisy!

I'm relatively new to your work, but it's incredible to see a man with incorruptible values. I tell everyone who will listen to tune in. Thank you!

these Neocons knows that NK have limited money and time. when NK runs out of money or resources, they do save face by diplomatic means to solve the problem. Neocons just wants to feed the military complex

Is there a way to listen to your Key Note Address at Anarchapulco? I gives me hope that you did that and that Cynthia McKinney was there too. Did she speak? If so, where can we hear her. The huge growth of this event makes me think that similar events will be created other places in the world. Anarchapulco 2019 will be capped at about 5000 tickets i think so there is clearly global interest in this type of discussion ~ less government. I recomment folks listen to Catherine Autin Fitts interview recently conducted by Sarah Westall. It's about how… Read more »

Could it be possible that the Democrats could be working together with the school boards and some of the students to push gun control at the same time helping students get rid of students they don't like or desire????? Just a thot. Trump needs to impeach the Democrats. The Democrats calling for violence on the streets should be enuff to impeach the democrat get rid of the Democrats. Remove all the Democrats and fake Republicans. Replace them all with an independent party. The same of Canada. We need someone better then Trump so Canada can de independent we need a… Read more »

I can´t think of any US military presence that does not warrant GTFO in any conflict area, but I can think of a lot of nations in peace that have the same sentiment.

If Ron Paul was president, amerikkka and most of the world would have avoided WW3. #BDS #BDSusa

I think China promised that if North Korea gave up its nuclear weapons, they would protect them from an attack by amerikkka, South Korea or anyone else. And since China is a trustworthy nation, unlike the liars, warmongers and slaves to APARTHEID israel in amerikkka, their promise holds weight. #BDS #BDSusa

North Korea has said the similar things for decades now : don't trust em.

North Korea had better not give up their nukes.

Not if they want some 'freedom' to be dropped on them.

As a Vietnam Vet I spent nearly 2 1/2 years seeing what war can do, Up Close. My conclusion is nobody wins. The US always has to have an enemy, to justify its huge military budget.

Nothing new. Sounds like the same conditions that Obama turned down twice, and that Trump has already turned down once, shortly after his election. I’m glad you’re giving visibility to this, though I wish you’d point out that this is one in a series of attempts over the last few years by NK to make a deal. Of course, we won’t be hearing about this on MSM, just as we hadn’t heard of the last few from them. Also, the US used chemical weapons against NK decades ago, in the 1950s, effectively committing the same war crimes that we are… Read more »

As long as North Kor disarms and allows the US to invade without a decent defense system in place they are doing the right thing in the Universe.

I think people have little knowledge of what is going on behind the scenes, it's highly secret. You can do investigations on the internet from multiple sources to get a better idea, but it's really difficult to know the accurate truth. I predict, by the end of Trump's administration or sooner, North Korean communism will be finished and North and South Korea will merge as one country without a war.

Bolton, Condoleeza, Cheney. Rumsfeld, Bush, Powell, Tony Blair: now there is a case for The Hague (or better: Nuremberg!). How can we tolerate these bona fide dirty criminals to live, and live well?

Anyone who thinks that Kim Jong-Un can be negotiated with or will honor his agreements are stupid idiots. I couldn't have cared less about North Korea until he said he was going to kill us and started shooting missiles. I already went ahead and mentally prepared myself to embrace my imminent death and kill our enemies, peace can burn in hell now.

On non-intervention in international matters and the cutting back on militarism Ron Paul makes a lot of sense. He loses me when he refuses to consider any kind of sensible gun control. Having assault weapons out there only makes the police state more palatable and in fact provides cover and a license to ramp up and expand the phony war on TERROR. The US is a police state and Homeland Security and the TSA are out of control. The government agencies have access to all the information that they want including any that individuals think is private. I fear that… Read more »

Time will tell, but I think we still need to be weary of the possibility that this is just a delay tactic because NK feels like they won't be able to finish the design of the nuke's re-entry vehicle before the US acts first. Maybe they plan on continuing development after they reach an agreement. Maybe they're being honest. Assuming they are honest though, this is great news, though it tends to support the notion that sanctions and provocative drills and rhetoric are what brought them to the table. I'm ok with that as long as people realize that these… Read more »

Even though it looks like good news, i would caution you into believing that american foreign policy people will not try to use it for there own benefit. America gov is very devious, and although not getting the war they wanted is good, at least it has not happened yet, that does not mean american snidey foreign policy people will not be all over this, trying to bring about problems, the american gov normally create. When you have such a devious force like america intervening in such things, you can be sure, both koreas should be cautious. Its the only… Read more »

Seems the US will only negotiate with foreign powers when they are deemed a threat. Russia tells of their smarter nukes, now Washington wants to talk, even though Putin has wanted to dialogue for a year..
