Myth-Busters: “Pro-Choice” Hypocrites

Today on Ron Paul’s Myth-Busters, Dr. Paul takes a look at some of the Cultural Marxist and PC buzzwords, like “equality,” “diversity,” “discrimination,” and “privilege.” The supposed champions of a person’s ‘freedom to choose’ actually advocate the exact opposite. They much prefer mental chains for everyone.

I'd like to hear Chris speak in some of the myth buster episodes, or maybe start his own series on the channel.

Best Myth Busters ever! Dr. Paul is such a great teacher sometimes. His rap on equality vs. equal justice under the law, is so terrific (it goes from approx. 7:3011:00). We're not worthy

I don't think free market regulates racism well. A simple look back on slavery…

Besides I thought a libertarian tenant is that government is there to protect liberties.

I have a problem with the phrase "we are not equal" (which I have heard before). It is ambiguous but the closest meaning would be equal value as human being. So it means that people have different value as human beings, which is very radical and controversial.

But if it is to be understood as "we are not identical", then that goes without saying. So what exactly do the cultural marxists mean if they say we are all equal? That should be the starting point. Otherwise it is just a deliberate misunderstanding which won't be fruitful.

Isn't the gap between rich and poor bigger than ever? When you see extremely rich people side by side with extremely poor people, like in India, I call it a problem and, it shows that there is something wrong with the system.

I have never heard Dr. Paul be so direct about something. "This is cry baby stuff". Yes it is! Ron Paul is my hero and I will always love him.

Here's the thing, it's not YOUR body. It's someone elses, you do NOT own that child, you are a carer, NOT an owner. If you were to own another human being that would be called slavery, and we in the West abolished slavery, because every life is sacred. I'm as libertarian as they come, I belive in choice, but I also belive in responsibility for those same choises. If you were to use a bunch of steroids then end up ill afterwards then that's okay, because they knew the risks and made the choice regardless. Suddenly if it's a child,… Read more »

When Ron Paul talks to Daniel McAdams he appears rational and conciliatory; when he talks to this Rossini, he appears to push the hard Wall Street NeoLiberal line of Austrian and Neoliberal Economics. There appears to be a conflict; their economic and regulatory rhetoric is designed to support the Oligarchs in Wall Street while Ron’s discussions with Daniel appear to support non-interventionism. Pro Oligarchs for economic and regulatory policy and anti Oligarchs for foreign imperialism and slaughter – it’s almost Good Cop, Bad Cop on a political scale. Or in the case of Rossini and Woods; Bad Cop, Worse Cop.

So Hypocrisy only works in one direction? Either it is analogous or not. If it is a distinctly different issue, i.e., life vs property issue, then a 'pro-choice' on abortion stance is not anymore hypocritical than a religious Libertarian that is anti-abortion.

This is exactly what I've been saying for over a decade; CHOICE is the Crux of Liberty and freedom. Without true choice you have neither Liberty or freedom. You have limited Liberty and freedom or no liberty and freedom. And limited Liberty and freedom is not what being truly free is. Unfortunately the majority of people around the world are unable to comprehend this very simple notion. Hence the word statist and statism. This is what government's count on, ideological statist supporters of archaic Dogma. Same goes for religion. it's all designed to Reign over people to control people, how… Read more »

I usually agree w Dr. Paul, but there seems to be a major contradiction here in terms of liberty. Should there be hospitals w women chained to beds, forced to give birth? An early fetus is not like a baby, in that it must feed off the mother in order to live, where as a baby can be cared for by anyone, if the mother doesn't want it. Im not saying abortions are good, but i don't think govt should be involved. Woman control reproduction, not the govt…if you don't like it take it up with God. Its up to… Read more »

Taxation is a method of breaking up the Pareto Principle in the economy. It's not a very good method, but sometimes it is the only method.

whenever you as an American have to use "them" or "the left" to demonize other citizens you become a part of the problem you claim to decry. Govt is the Alpha and Omega of the problems; citizens doing what they like with their own lives, having whatever opinions they like, are not the problem.

A special program today. Thanks, Ron Paul.My own comment. There is a widespread idea that an objective look at language beyond even the slightest point can't be that important for truth. But a more critical look at language and logic can be immensely important. Consider the obscure area of mathematical logic, which is the foundation of mathematics, which in turn plays a huge role in science, and science generally, plays a big role in our thinking about the world. Math logic is heavily into into a pure objective look at language and its relation to the world. By the way,… Read more »

Awe! Dr. Paul! You're going with that human life shit? What a disapointment. That's what sucks about Liberitarianism. You all claim to be all about peronal freedom. Until someone else is doing something you don't like. Suddenly, THEIR freedom to choose what to do with THEIR life goes out the window.

Stop blaming "far-left" over & over when you run from the party that's full of far-right idiots, warmongers, & corporatists. Who passed those useless laws anti-bathroom, anti-abortion(when you don't really care about kids), gun-ban paranoia, no/little taxes on massive corporations, no basic environmental protection to even protect water, no cuts on military? The right wing. Try looking at the people in your own party.

So glad you brought up the correct use of the word discriminate. It is a positive attribute to be called discriminating where someone makes careful choices in life.
