Myth-Busters: Breaking Up Big Banks Solves Nothing

Ron Paul takes on today’s biggest myths in another segment of Myth-Busters! Despite popular opinion, the Supreme Court does not have primacy over the other branches of government. Also Bernie Sanders’ idea of tackling Wall Street without addressing gold and sound money is no solution at all. The War on Cash and The Reagan Myth are also addressed. Tune in!

I would fight and die for this man, and I'm British. One of the very few politicians who I feel genuinely has the best interests of the people. Thank you Dr Paul, you have taught me so much.

I think the supreme court needs some sort of check that allows them to be removed every few years. They have WAY too much power. The 14th amendment has been used to turn down laws about gays and other "minorities", but why hasn't it been used to nullify SEXIST laws like alimony, draft, domestic abuse, rape, etc… Where is men's equal protection?

(1803) Marbury v. Madison

Marbury v. Madison, arguably the most important case in Supreme Court history, was the first U.S. Supreme Court case to apply the principle of "judicial review" — the power of federal courts to void acts of Congress in conflict with the Constitution. Written in 1803 by Chief Justice John Marshall, the decision played a key role in making the Supreme Court a separate branch of government on par with Congress and the executive.

we have three branches of government veiving for power over the other two, and that is just a distraction the fourth branch of government (shadow government) wants you to believe.

Love the title. So breaking up federal reserve banks solves nothing Ron? Interesting coming from you of all people.

how would reintroducing the gold standard help the economy?

Bernie is a Jew… 'nuff said. Ron Paul is long winded and most likely controlled opposition. He pretends Bernie the Jew is motivated by other than Jewish interests…

They have to get rid of cash otherwise people would take their money out of banks when they go negative on interest rates. The people would be at the complete mercy of a lawless totalitarian government. Say anything against this and goverbanks cancel your debit card. They keep tabs on every transaction you make. It won't work because the cash using drug culture, a significant portion of the US economy, would be wiped out.

Bernie's cronies? Meaning the American people. For Mr.Paul to say breaking up the banks isn't a good thing is very odd coming from him.

Thanks Dr. Paul, as always you're honest, sincere and illuminating. Mrs. Powel asked Franklin … "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" We know which was and Still is the Answer: "a Republic, if you can keep it."

Sheesh, he never really answered the question. If the impediment to letting them fail last time was the size, clearly they would raise that again.

Its akin to having an army of right handed soldiers that refuses to fight because the weapons are left handed. Something must be changed.

As much as i appreciate Bernie's support for Rand's Audit the FED he never mentions inflation, no one does, i miss the good Dr. Always the one who makes sense.

The subject of the government banning paper money is quite interesting. A lot of lower class people don't even have bank accounts. So I assume, the lower class would be forced to figure out some new form of currency, perhaps barter. If that's the case the poor would suddenly have an independent economy.

Your country's core is rotten (slavery/genocide/imperialism) so it doesn't matter what you do; it's only a matter of time before it collapses on its false ideals and greed

The antisemitism in these comments towards Bernie is pretty telling about a lot of y'all's views. You can go ahead and not support breaking up the too big to fail banks, but don't go attacking Sanders. He's the only person who criticized Israel's actions this election season, and they tried to crucify him for it.
