Is North Korea An ‘Imminent Threat’?

North Korea continues testing missiles as the United States and South Korea conduct military exercises to practice attacking North Korea. Is North Korea about to launch an attack? Is it capable of being an existential threat to the US? Or is it possible that the threat is only made worse by continued US meddling in the dispute?

Oh boy.. why is this so difficult for libertarians to understand…. look let's make things Chrystal clear. They have been in a status of war for 60 years! They are in a status of WAR! So we can sit and rehash and argue the last 60 years forever but let's not get confused on whats simple and easy to understand. What's IMPORTANT is that this is in the national security interest of the US. Right now and for decades there has been hundreds of thousands of artillery placed on the parallel line. That isn't building fear that is a fact!!!!!!!… Read more »

America & Russia both must be isolationalist. Mind your own business. Americans are simply used to this kind of imperialistic attitude and they are not gonna change their minds anyway because of the way they are taught in schools against communism and they have a very broad definition of American interest.

Normally I'd agree with Ron Paul's non interventionist ideology, but there is a big difference between Iraq and N Korea, and to say we should just let the two Koreas work things out is not only naive but also extremely ignorant of the history, conflict and now delicate peace treaty that exists on the Asian Peninsula…also, there is zero money to be made by the US going to war with N Korea – they have no oil, no natural resources…just a ton of impoverished brainwashed people who'd be a drain on S Korea and China's economy, which would then spill… Read more »

If a nation is being demonized by the USA there's a 100% chance it's a sovereign nation protecting it's people and culture.

I am sorry but it seems like you know very little on what is actually happening in east asia region and make assumptions based on guessing rather than relying on facts and solid analysis. I hope you to be more educated on the matter if possible or I suggest you to refrain assumptions. Why US had to go to Korean peninsula is far more complicated. The fact North Korean government starved 3 million of its people (actual number) to death in the 90's clearly does not show any justifiable cause for North Korean regime.

Another great report. Thank you Dr Paul and Daniel. A great place to get more perspective on this issue is Newsbuds "China Watch" with Peter Lee.

Actual Korean people I've talked with tell me the TRUTH that factional families in the north continue to dominate and contain their historic kingdom using whatever means are possible. The underlying factors involve international crime families who have a vested interest in keeping the UN & US forces all active and capable of smuggling guns, drugs and children out of wartorn areas. This invisible war against North Korea could end in 10 minutes if certain people begin discussing Secret Society influences instead of what Dr. Paul ALWAYS references as nationalistic or political differences.

Let's see. Attack N Korea and Seoul will become a sheet of hot glass. I don't think so. That is why Iran needs nukes to neutralize the psychopathic, aggressive, war mongering, expanding, Zionist, Israel.

Do you want to wait until they are an imminent threat? Do you want to sit around and let them launch and EMP attack? Some times hard core libertarians just don't make sense, why don't you join us pragmatic libterries?

NORTH KOREA IS A PUPPET STATE OF CHINA… SO THE REAL QUESTION IS: IS CHINA AN IMMINENT THREAT?

Dank Memes

The U.S. caused North Korea in the first place, the U.S. fucks up loads of places all the time. They should leave NK the hell alone and say sorry to fat little Kim unless they really need to intervene like if Kimmy becomes able to make an accurate nuclear ICMB or they attack a neighboring country… we caused this mess but we probably shouldn't clean it up, not the way Tillerson and Trump likely wants to anyway. Peace ☮.

The long and the short of it boils down to the "Military Industrial Complex", perpetual war. War sells and makes lots of money.. Get it?

The other question begs the answer. How to shut down the shadow government and get back our country and constitution?

Ron, We went to war to protect our neighbors from conquest by oppressive states. If you think that you can convince oppressive states not to seek conquest by talking with them then you have not learned the lesson of World War II. That lesson is that we must not try to appease oppressive states and we must stand up to bullies whenever they attempt to bully anyone. By the way sanctions DO work. China sought rapprochement because our sanctions were working. If we responded with ask us when you have shed communism, (as we did with the Russian Empire), then… Read more »

Doesn't take a lot of nukes to do major damage…they have the capability to develop mid-range nuclear weapons now…not many nations have that capability….and the North Koreans have a much higher ratio of the population throughout their military than the US and most other countries…they are enough of a threat.

Good ANALYSIS! Also never underestamate your enemy.. NK could have weapons we dont even know.. Also they have subs..how hard would it be for them to have a nuke in a sub float under a cargo ship..And blast NY off the coast of the USA??

The US uses the cover of policeman of the world to false flag barge into countries and loot whatever's available…land, resources, water, children for the sex trade, slave laborers, whatever's not nailed down. Either we go in or we train and hire terrorists to do the dirty work and then we pretend to fight them. The US could care less about democracy because we've supported the worst despots known to man, as long as they were toadies. We could care less if children and civilians are killed because we've killed millions of them. We could care less if kids are… Read more »

Part of the new word order and global government….the endless war narrative is designed to create a future reality where mankind becomes a constantly warring race and joing galactic empire who are currently hiding and manipulating people on earth to fulfil thier agenda. this has happened on many worlds in other star systems. Empire on earth reflects the behavior of empire in the galaxy, psychotic and souless, they see humanity as a resource and use them, this is reflected in corporations with human resource managers. America is the worst offender of the betrayal of humanity. And much of it is… Read more »

I think that Trump, Putin, Kim Jong Un, and the presidents of Japan and South Korea should meet in the same room and try to end the tension in the region.
