This may work for independent learners, for some, but definitely not a solution for society overall.

How to know 100% that the school system is an indoctrination into the New World Order?
Not one hour of any day, in the 12 years, will you ever be taught, about a Federal Reserve Note, or it's shareholders

I support home schooling. However, parents must select the right programme. There are many primarily religious based home school programmes that reject evolution and teach religious nonsense. Parents – do your home!

It sounds like to me that the way the online schools teach and what they teach is much different than public schools. I do however think that if you choose the path of home schooling, you should find a couple of community driven hobbies to take part in (I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH). I completely agree that the public school system is extremely messed up and they should adopt many of the concepts that home schooling/internet schooling has created. Looking back, I learned more about the things I didn't agree with and how not to do things than actually getting… Read more »

If the state want to spend our money for the kids, use it in sports infrastructure and 24/7 libraries. Yes school are soft prisons even the private ones but I make most of my friends there. @Lonnie Rodriguez. Hi if you want to study architecture and love mathematics I suggest to study the work of Juan Borchers. Is in spanish. I have the luck to have the two books that he published: Meta Arquitectura and Institución Arquitectónica. The faculty of architecture of universidad catolica de chile have the whole archive of his work. Advice he writes in so many languages… Read more »

Parents are the ones who don't encourage their kids to do anything. When I graduated with a civil engineering degree, all I could do was live at home with my two brothers. My parents didn't want to build a fence because they said it would cost to much. So I had to take out the dogs with leashes all while getting called stupid and useless by my two brothers that never wanted to be in school. Every time I told my parents to build a fence to keep the dogs contained, they said it would cost too much and they'd… Read more »

I remember as recently as the 80s I met some church friends who traveled in a tour bus made into a home and they traveled from place to place running from states just to be able to homeschool their two daughters. It’s really sad that the people who create government have to run from it to exercise such a right as schooling.

Home schooling should be promoted for everyone I went to a UK comprehensive school one of the worst Neo-Liberal brainwashing institutions you can imagine.

nice that she enjoys home schooling, but I think a adult perspective (a college professor comparing students with a home school background vs government school) would be a greater defense or support of the effectiveness of homeschooling. After all, you don't know what you don't know. Whether or not I FEEL educated, is really besides the point.

When I was an exchange student in the US the high schools felt like a prison. The buildings and its installations looked like a penetentiary. The attitude of the principal was one of a drill officer. They literally used the same type of buses as they use in a prisoner transfer. The atmosphere was designed to feel like you are jailed.

Traditionally speaking, religious, public and state educations are hierarchical, organizational, and societal in nature. Home schooling is regulated; but, isn't self-education a program of continuing education. Teaching people how to go about learning is the beginning of a good schooling program. Pink Floyd's The Wall offers an Anglo/American look at the govern-mental warfare-welfare state; Billy Joel's music video We Didn't Start The Fire is another.

Homeschooled children tend to do better on testing, fewer dropout rates, less negative peer pressure and of course no exposure to bad teachers.
