the whole nuclear program has been a psy-op. i spent 48 months on alert at a sac base, there's no way our weapons were real.
its just like the SDI  hoax.  the sino-soviets were in on it, hense the double entendre mutually destroyed.
the real axis of evil

I think yes, we've learned things.  If the U.S. were to ever drop another nuclear bomb on a civilian population, they wouldn't get away with it.  Mass political overhaul; even the incumbents would quickly be out of a job. Maybe this is overoptimistic.  But if populations around the world in the internet age starting seeing full color high resolution images of innocent civilians with their skin peeled away, half-alive, the war machine would end overnight. I still cry, right now in fact, when thinking about the level of cruelty, of inhumanity, necessary to inflict these weapons on a population. Ventura… Read more »

You failed to give necessary context..  Mainly Operation Meeting House.

The sustained firebombing of Japan.  The Nuclear weapons were used to shock the Japanese into surrender.  More people died in the firebombing of Tokyo.

Ron, it's a damned if you do and damned if you don't scenario.   I know you are aware of the luciferian thing going on with the USA and ultimately the world.  If you are not educate yourself.  The FED is only a part of it.

Dr. Paul, it is my understanding that the Japanese were already attempting to negotiate their surrender as early as late 1944, long before the atomic devices were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Additionally, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Admiral Nimitz, and General Douglas MacArthur were against dropping the bombs if memory properly serves.

Young people saying it wasn't justified shows just how unconnected they are to world history and the context surrounding the bombing. They had proven they were unwilling to surrender.  It was a decision made to save American lives.  It did so.  This video for me did nothing to disprove the need for the Hiroshima nuke.  I have personally always questioned the Nagasaki bombing though. I don't celebrate it in anyway, but I think bombing Hiroshima was absolutely necessary. I think everything said about our current foreign policy is correct though. Also, it's extremely messed up that us as Americans, the… Read more »

Truman most likely had nearly 100 nuclear weapons by the end of his first year in office. I don't believe it that the US government used the only 2 nuclear weapons it claimed that it had during the bombings just to end the war ASAP. Today we spend more money on war than we ever did before even when only fighting against ISIS which could easily be defeated in less than 90 days using 20,000 American troops on the ground. Sure we would lose 500 or even 1,000 men do defeat ISIS in 90 days to hand all that over… Read more »

I'm not sure the fanatical Japanese would have surrendered without using nukes, but we should have taken a different approach. We should have personally sent diplomats to the Japanese government, told them we had a super weapon, explained that we were going to demonstrate the weapon at an undisclosed MILITARY target. I think this would have worked.

Normally I support Dr. Paul but let's have some historical context here…..Japanese negotiation consisted of keeping all their colonial holding in Asia and that was a no-go for allies who suffered mass atrocities by the IJA. As for the Russians, Imperial Headquarters were still expecting Russia to play balance against western power in diplomacy due to their NAP. It was only after the A-bombs that the Soviets ripped the treaty and join in for spoils. Oh that and Japan likes to play "mokusatsu" on diplomacy. As for targets, Hiroshima was:the headquarters of Second General Army, the 59th Army, the 5th Division… Read more »

20/20 hindsight judgement. You should be more clever than now constantly come back to old issues and to assume moral high ground.

So, killing civilians is normal procedure for US armed forces. The trend continues.
