You clearly didn't hear her comments on taxes and military spending. The rich got lowered taxes so they are wealthier and there is no trickle down to larger pay checks for workers, and the additional military spending could have freed every indebted student in the US. I respect you both but don't misrepresent her clearly stated policies in an attempt to mislead.

She spoke out against Israel! I like her already.

Just answer ONE question:
Since absolutely all money is always loaned into existence, the sum of all savings is at all times absolutely identical to the sum of all debt.
If you want the government to save and pay off 20 trillion of debt where YOU are holding the savings on the opposite side, do you volunteerly give away your savings, or would you prefer being taxed into bankruptcy, or what other way can you imagine how you could cancel out the government debt against your savings?

social democracy is different from socialism that you see in failed countries, that's kind of obvious

The "free market" myth might have worked in 1950, but not in modern corporate America. If you could just make up your mind to build good furniture and sell it, or build knives, etc… hell most of my family was wine-makers at one point in history. YOU. CAN'T. DO. THAT anymore. Corporations have driven the profit out of it, and even a worker in America is forced to compete with wherever the most desperate workers are at. We've been devalued, the opportunities to capitalize on the basic goods and services have been stolen from us. The Libertarian message is a… Read more »

Look Dr. Paul, enough of this "handout" nonsense. Getting a living wage for working full time in America isn't a handout. Cutting our per capita healthcare costs in 1/2 and covering everyone in the most equitable manner isn't a handout. It's practical governing, and I don't give a damn if it offends some nutty old man's stupid ideology. We don't have time for ideology, we need a government that functions now.

Jeff Bezos has 140 billion dollars, that's authority Jack. Anyway you slice it, that's a pile of authority. If we followed Libertarianism he'd have more of it and accumulate it more efficiently with less regulation or any chance of us having a vote in it. Tell me that's liberty and freedom and you insult my intelligence. The government isn't my enemy, it's my only hope. The idea that the 99% each get a vote and can choose what they want, rather than being ruled over by those who inevitably accumulate more wealth than should be allowed by law for any… Read more »

I am more left leaning, but thank you as always Ron Paul for your intellectual integrity and for speaking respectfully about a candidate like Ocasio-Cortez. I have no idea what to think about her yet, and as you said I hope she ends up being a principled progressive. It's also my hope that the sane elements of the left and right can come together on the big issues, like war, mass incarceration, personal liberty, crony capitalism, and more. You will always have my respect despite some differences in our views.

if people with 2 or 3 jobs cannot afford a decent house or healthcare then there is something serious wrong.. Libertarian and socialism could find eachother halfway if they both are prepared to put some water in the wine. It is not fair that one while working hard has to live on "water and bread" while the other lives in luxury… they both are part of the same chain.. if one part gives away everyone is at loss

Ha! “The socialist are playing on people’s dissatisfaction.” Yes Ron, that is literally the defining characteristic of socialism, To help distribute the wealth to the workers.

SOCIALIST…WHO IS GOING TO PAY FOR THIS??? 21 TRILLION DEBT!! The good thing is, if you have a good platform and can get out and market your ideas…you can win on a shoestring budget.

The newest manufactured token minority candidate of hope and change being trotted out by left as being "just a regular girl from bronx" when actually she comes from a life of privilage to merely continue that same Neoliberal agenda after getting in office much like Trump has.

Sorry Ron, but your Ayan Rand economics are no better than socialism. Neither is the answer to the betterment of all of humans, not just to those that game the system for their own benefit.

She's a democratic socialist.
She doesn't believe in forcing people to do anything, but she believes in non violent protest and spreading the message to get ppl on board.
She's Catholic by the way

Libertarians are just republicans who vote republican all the time but pretend like they are against republicans.
Jordan Rogan and Dave Rubin are the perfect example.

Ron says at some point he's not sure what Ocasio-Cotrez's foreign policy is like, this is from the issues section of her website. A Peace EconomySince the invasion of Iraq in 2003, the United States has entangled itself in war and occupation throughout the Middle East and North Africa. As of 2018, we are currently involved in military action in Libya, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Pakistan, and Somalia. Hundreds of thousands of civilians in these countries have been killed either as collateral damage from American strikes or from the instability caused by U.S. interventions. Millions more have fled their broken… Read more »

We ain't free man, it's all bullshit! We're in a prison by our own system. This country don't want to be free! Know what it wants now? One hand to wipe its ass for 'em, another to clean it's lips for 'em, and another to put on a big red bib for 'em cause it's time to eat! A spoonful of baby food with delight, and mommy's holding the spoon!

Margaret Thatcher once said: "The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money." "The trouble with Margaret Thatcher's Neoliberalism is that eventually companies become so brazenly greedy and parasitical that they rely on government for corporate welfare subsidies in order to give their employees a decent standard of living." ~ DSA member

“America must move towards democratic socialism.” ~ MLK (1966). We are long, long overdue America.

The Deficit hawks & Deficit doves are two sides of the same coin. We need Deficit owls like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who understand the "power of the purse" (at 7:15 of MSNBC interview which none of the talking heads understood) and how our monetary and economic policy really works on a federal level. When somebody says "how are we going to pay for it?" It's simple, we pay for it the same way the congress paid for the $700-billion defense authorization program—congress VOTED that economic policy/funds into existence–and without raising a single dime in federal taxes. How has insatiable greed and total disregard for the average taxpayer come to be normal? This is not socialism. We need to redress the balance. Things now are rigged for the super rich 1%. Making the playing field a little more level for the 99% is not socialism. It's just common sense. Why demonize AOC and make unfounded assumptions about any change she may be able to implement? It sounds like you would prefer to be walked all over by the Kochs and have the future of our country polluted forever.

Ron Paul, if you mention free stuff one more time I will unsubscribe you. Everywhere around the world, even in Iraq, and Libya in the past, there's been free college available for the qualified, because everybody knows it is good investment for the nation's future. Why call it free stuff, and not seven fold return on our investment, because that is exactly the future benefit the state will get. By the way senator Paul, that posh health care, probably for the rest of your life, you have access to , IS free stuff, that we pay for.
