Cheap Oil: Great For The Economy?

Oil has dropped to its lowest price since 2009. With the Fed meeting this week to decide on a rate hike and the geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East, what might we expect in the near term?

Cheap oil may not be so good for our economy what about the billions loaned out to oil drillers in this country? I think this may be the next big bubble about to burst.

if everybody forgot why oil is so cheap they're trying to bankrupt Russia right now and as soon as they do that going to raise oil up to five to seven dollars that's how the world works

Cheap oil is a big problem , If Oil was more expensive the Western countries would have focused more on new energy sources but it is hard to compete with Oil when it is very cheap.

US involvement in the Middle East has never been about insuring a steady oil supply for the United States.  It's about keeping the Middle East in a constant state of turmoil in order to keep their oil off the market and to prop up  prices for domestic producers.  What's next, WAR?

Good Report.  One slight correction:  Ron said we don't not export oil from the U.S.  Actually, refined oil is by far the largest U.S. export — without it, the trade deficits would be even larger than they already are.  What Ron is talking about is unrefined oil — our country does not yet export UNREFINED oil.

no exporting of gas or oil.

Dr. Paul, we need you to call on all of your supporters who went full Anarcho-Capitalist after what happened in 2012. We need them to come back and rally for Rand. #TheRevolutionIsNotDead

Ron Paul is a true American and a great man. More people should look to his suggestions, especially including Paul Krugman.

Cheap Oil is Great For The Economy. Woohoo, I've already saved plenty and spent the gas savings in my local mom and pop stores. Now, if we could just stop the wars, end the FED and abolish the IRS, everyone would live better.

I thought that competition was good because it drove down prices. You can't change positions as a libertarian just because you ended up on the losing side of the bet. (personally, I don't believe in libertarianism – the "invisible hand" is a fairy tale – it entices you with one side of the story – the winners – but the losers [most of us] are left in misery.)

According to this government website, from the US Energy Information Administration, we do export oil. I don't know why I can't copy and paste links on youtube but here it is….http://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.cfm?id=727&t=6 If this is true, then maybe then found away around exporting oil?

and now the US can export…..that is some progress.
