Head of the Republic’s delegation, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Walid al-Moallem continued his intensive meetings with a number of his foreign counterparts on the sidelines of the session, during which he reviewed the latest developments in Syria on the field and political tracks, according to SANA.
Al-Moallem met with Indian Foreign Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar and discussed with him ways of enhancing the historical relations between the two friendly countries and the ongoing preparations for holding the next meeting of the Syrian-Indian Joint Committee in Damascus. In syria.
Al-Moallem reviewed the latest developments in Syria and thanked India for its support to Syria during the crisis, pointing out that all possibilities are available to develop relations between the two friendly countries.
For his part, the Indian Foreign Minister affirmed his country’s desire to strengthen its economic cooperation with Syria and continue to provide all forms of support and assistance to Syria.
Al-Moallem discussed with his Belarusian counterpart Vladimir Maki various aspects of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries. The two sides also discussed the latest developments in Syria.
Al-Moallem also met with his Armenian counterpart Zuhrab Manatsakanyan and stressed Syria’s determination to liberate all of its territory from the abomination of terrorism, while at the same time working on the political track through the constitutional discussion committee and on the economic track through the process of reconstruction of what was destroyed by the terrorist war launched on Syria.
For his part, Natsakanyan stressed his country’s continued support for Syria’s efforts to restore security and stability to the whole Syrian territory.
In the context of Al-Moallem held a meeting with Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali Al-Hakim, and discussed with him ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly and neighboring countries and the importance of permanent coordination between them to face common challenges, especially the fight against terrorism and external interference in their internal affairs.
He stressed the importance of upgrading relations between the two countries in line with the aspirations of their peoples and achieve their common interests, reiterating the call to overcome all obstacles to the reopening of border crossings between the two countries because of the importance and positive effects on the situation in Syria and Iraq as well as in the region.
For his part, al-Hakim congratulated the Syrian side on the completion of the formation of a committee to discuss the constitution, which is a very important agreement, stressing the need to reject external interference in the work of the committee, expressing Iraq’s deep concern and rejection of all projects put forward by some parties that would violate the sovereignty of Syria on all its territory.
He reiterated Iraq’s position in support of Syria in the war on terrorism faced by the two countries.
Al-Moallem also met with his Sudanese counterpart Asmaa Mohammed Abdullah and listened to a detailed presentation on the latest political developments in Sudan and the steps being taken to achieve comprehensive peace in all Sudanese territories in the coming stage.
Al-Moallem expressed Syria’s happiness for the gradual recovery of his brother Sudan and its status on the Arab and regional arenas.He pointed out that the relations between Syria and Sudan are rooted in various fields and that Syria is willing to continue to strengthen these relations for the benefit of the two brotherly countries and peoples.
For her part, the Sudanese Foreign Minister expressed her country’s aspiration to develop relations with Syria and its desire to continue the existing cooperation between the two countries in all fields, affirming Sudan’s total rejection of any harm to Syria and its rejection of all unilateral actions taken by some parties that would violate Syrian sovereignty. The need to fully respect the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Syria.
The meetings were attended by Deputy Foreign Minister and Expatriates Faisal Al-Miqdad, Syrian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Bashar Al-Jaafari and Director of the Special Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Mohammad Al-Amrani.
The delegation of the republic arrived in New York last Thursday, to participate in the work of the 74th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, and the teacher on Saturday delivered a statement of the Syrian Arab Republic to the participants in the session, stressing Syria’s determination to continue the war on terrorism until the clearance of all Syrian territory, Today it stands on the threshold of final victory, with its hand stretched out for peace, while maintaining its national constants.
