Former Iraqi Kurdistan President Massoud Barzani has called on Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to use his country’s influence to prevent Syrian Kurds being harmed after threats by the Turkish regime to launch aggression on Syrian territory in eastern Euphrates.

Zebari described Lavrov’s visit to Erbil as “historic,” saying that Lavrov was a minister of state and his visit was important to the Kurdistan region of Iraq, and the meeting was positive, and trends were close, and Lavrov praised the improvement in relations between Erbil and Baghdad.
A statement read out of the Lavrov and Barzani meeting noted that the Syrian situation and the latest developments in it were one of the themes of the meeting. Or changes.

The Observatory pointed out that the meeting dealt with the most important developments in the region, especially what is happening in the east of the Euphrates and its expected consequences, and that the two sides stressed the need for continued cooperation in order to reach a permanent Syrian political solution that saves the country and stop the waterfall that has been going on for nearly nine years.
